The Sealed Room

The Sealed Room, which debuted in 1909, is a film about a king of some sorts who constructs a room with now windows and only one door for him and the love of his life to spend time in. He goes on to find out that his wife/girlfriend/lover has found interest in another man, which they take to the room he had built for himself and her. In a fit of rage he covers the only exit and entrance to the room with bricks so that the two will be stuck in the room with now oxygen, food or water. The two slowly die as the man who caused their death relishes what he had done. The film was a good to me because of it’s dramatic twist where the king/prince decides to cover the exit instead of confronting the problem. Something that had also been brought up by the class during discussion is the use of time-lapse which was used in a very fine matter for this film.
