A Burglers Dilemma

This film was interesting to me because it shows the events that lead to before the burgalary was set up, while it was happening, after it happened and even further down the line when the arrested criminal was released from prison. The use of time-lapse was magnificent in this way, since it was something i haven’t seen used this effectively in a short film yet. The film which was directed by D. W. Griffith follows a young burgler who attempts to rob a home of a drunk man who thinks he has murdered is brother. When the police come they assume the burglar was the one who killed the drunk mans brother and arrest him of murder. When the brother who was assumed dead wakes up, clearly just having been knocked out, he points out that his brother actually knocked him out and not the burgler. However, the burglar is sent to some sort of rehab and changes his ways.
